Italy - 2025-06-22 Gallery of Modern Art

As per usual, Trieste has lots of street art.  What it also has is a Museum of Modern Art that was all kinds of fun.

There was the statue in the rotunda whose detail was amazing. I believe Friedrich Hitzing was the sculptor.

The balustrades were phenomenal

This marble beauty was on the second floor. The detail, again, amazing.

There were also paintings

More sculptures

The shadow on the wall was a nice bonus

We have seen this artists' sculptures in different cities in Europe and the UK. It's always fun to find one
as they are very unique.

Then it was time for a much needed break

On the 4th floor was a wonderful textile/clothing exhibition. It had been a competition to see how sustainability and clothing can come together. It was really fun.

After a light repast, we decided to explore the James Joyce Museum which also included Umberto Saba

This was our last day in Trieste and I would go back anytime. It's got great food, wonderful people, so much to see. It's not a tourist trap - except for the occasional cruise ship, so it has a nice laid back, quiet, vibe.
